About Cambridge Peptides

Cambridge Peptides is a privately held company head-quartered in Cambridge, UK with access to GMP and non-GMP laboratories in the US, Europe and East Asia. We are a leading European company for the production of high quality, synthetic, custom-designed peptides for use in scientific and medical research and development. We provide world-class peptide synthesis services to biotechnology companies, pharmaceutical companies and research organisations throughout Europe and the United States.

What makes us unique?

Peptides are our business. Unlike other companies, our sole focus is on excellence and efficiency in the field of solid-phase peptide synthesis, and the ways in which peptides are used by scientists in biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies from basic research through to commercial manufacture. This means we are able to offer unique expertise and understanding of our customers' needs, in order to support their research programs. For research use, we specialise in the manufacture of small quantities (5 milligrams – 100 milligrams) of peptides, to high levels of purity (between 90% and >99%, according to customers' requirements) as required for leading-edge scientific and medical R&D. For cGMP work, we offer a flexible service that can be tailored to each of our customers' unique requirements. We offer a full range of services including friendly, expert advice on the design and use of peptides in research programs. Whilst we lead the way in terms of scientific quality and support, we are also able to keep our pricing competitive because of the efficiency of our operations.

Management

Chief Executive Officer - George Masih, BSc, PhD

George Masih is an authority on peptide technologies as applied to the areas of drug discovery and vaccine development. Prior to taking up his role at Cambridge Peptides, George was most recently at Cambridge Antibody Technology (CAT) where he was responsible for the Peptide Chemistry department. He joined CAT shortly after its IPO with a mission to create a high-capacity peptide synthesis facility to supply peptide reagents both internally at CAT, and also to CAT's pharmaceutical and biotechnology partners. Making extensive use of innovative laboratory automation and informatics, George rapidly grew the peptide chemistry capability at CAT to be one of the largest and most efficient manufacturers of peptides in Europe. As a member of multi-disciplinary project teams, he also played a key role in genomics and drug discovery programmes at the company. Prior to joining CAT, George held positions at a number of companies providing peptide and nucleic acid related services to the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. George holds a PhD in Chemistry in the area of peptide-based drug discovery.
