Synthesis and Purification Services:
Technical Details

Our synthesis capability is designed to produce milligram amounts (mg's to hundreds of mg's) of pure peptides, customised to meet your precise requirements. To give you an idea of our capability, we have exemplified some aspects of our offering below, including custom synthesis, fluorescent labelling, biotin labelling, peptide-oligo hybrids, cyclic peptides, site-specific modification, peptide arrays, peptide libraries. However, the list is far from exhaustive, and we recognise each customer has unique needs. We'd be delighted to discuss your requirements with you.

All peptides we synthesise are supplied as either crude material, or as HPLC-purified samples to the level you specify, for example: >80%; >90%; >95%; >99%. They are also quality-assured and quality-checked by the use of HPLC and Mass Spec (MALDI-TOF and/or electrospray). Additionally, we can offer amino acid analysis and N-terminal sequencing. If you don't see what you need here, please contact us - we have a broad capability that isn't fully detailed on the website. We would be pleased to discuss your precise requirements with you.

Synthesis Capabilities

Custom Peptide Synthesis

Custom-made peptides, peptidomimetics and proteins for research use of freeze-dried material. We can supply peptides on fast turnaround times, to any level of purity to meet your needs.

Labelled Peptides

We can add a wide range of labels to the peptides we synthesise. Popular options include biotin and fluorescent probes. Please see our section on peptide labelling for more details.

Peptides for Selecting or Raising Antibodies

We can supply peptides designed for selecting or raising antibodies aimed at a variety of antibody technologies. The types of peptides include linear peptides, peptides with affinity tags for coating microtitre plates, and MAP peptides among others.

Peptide-Oligo Hybrids for Delivery Of Anti-Sense DNA Fragments

These compounds consist typically of a transporter peptide joined on to a cargo molecule, where the cargo molecule could for example be anti-sense DNA. Most types of dyes or tags can be incorporated, preferably at each end of the molecule. The oligo portion usually has a phosphorothioate backbone to give it stability towards enzymic degradation.

Cyclic Peptides

Peptides are typically cyclised by one of two approaches: via a disulphide bond; or by a peptide bond.

Site-Specific Modifications

Modifications at residue-specific and site-specific positions are introduced into peptides. For example, serine and tyrosine phosphorylation is a popular option. Other options include the incorporation of D amino acids; and lysine derivatives (di- and tri-methyl and acetyl).

Peptide Arrays & Microarrays

Supplied either in master-plate formats or as ready-to-use printed microarrays, our peptide arrays offer a high-quality, low-cost, solution for mapping experiments. For example mapping linear epitopes in antibodies and TCRs (See the arrays section).

Peptide Libraries

High-throughput synthesis of complex-mixture peptide libraries (up to 1 million peptides) with amounts of 50-250 nanomoles per peptide supplied in easy-to-use kit form (96-well plates).
